Well-being Week

Our school is a Healthy Ireland Health Promoting School, an Active School and a Green School. The Health Promoting School concept is a whole school approach to all aspects of health and well-being. The theme of well-being is about children being confident, happy and healthy.

This week marks Well-being Week in our school. Pupils will experience a wide range of activities to assist with the promotion of well-being throughout our school community. We are focusing on actions that can be taken to make a big difference to health and well-being: keeping active, connecting with family and friends, eating healthily, reducing screen time, including mobile devices and social media, reading more and sleeping well. There are a number of activities organised for the children including Gymnastics in the school hall, Badminton in the Community Centre and football on the Astro turf. Pupils can wear their school tracksuits each day this week and no homework will be assigned for the week. We encourage you to use this opportunity to focus on health and well-being with your family. Children's relationships and interactions with their families contribute significantly to their sense of well-being. We hope that you can join with us in this initiative as the health and well-being of our pupils is crucial to success in school and life. #activeschool #wellbeing
