Plastic in Action Peer Education Workshop
Our 5th Class pupils have been busy learning how they can make a difference! 🌍💚
The children recently took part in the Plastic Action Peer Education Workshop, facilitated by Meath County Council in collaboration with Education for Sustainability. A big thank you to both organisations for providing our pupils with this fantastic learning opportunity!
Through six fun, interactive activities, pupils explored plastic pollution, recycling and waste sorting, the impact of plastic on marine life, how long plastic remains in our environment, and practical actions we can take to reduce plastic use and make more sustainable choices.
But the learning doesn’t stop there! One of the most important elements of the programme is peer education. This week, our 5th Class pupils will become the teachers as they visit 3rd Class to share what they have learned and lead the younger pupils through the activities.
This is a wonderful opportunity for our pupils to develop their communication, teamwork, leadership and confidence, while empowering them to become environmental leaders and helping to spread an important sustainability message throughout our school.
We’re looking forward to seeing our 5th Class environmental leaders in action this week!
