Philip Walsh

A huge thank you to local historian Philip Walsh for visiting our 5th and 6th classes and bringing history to life through his fascinating collection of artefacts from World War One and World War Two.

His visit tied in perfectly with the 5th and 6th class History curriculum and gave the children a wonderful insight into what life was like during both wars. Philip’s knowledge, stories and artefacts made the learning so real and meaningful for the pupils.

He was incredibly engaging and captured the children’s interest from start to finish — there were plenty of questions and lots of curiosity throughout the talks!
