It has been a busy year here in Dunboyne Senior Primary School.

Have a read about some of the many sporting activities from during the year:

Athletics:

Pupils in the school competed in cross country and track and field events during the year. We held trials in the school and picked representatives for the school team. We had successful trips to Fairyhouse and Navan for cross country events. We also attended a track and field day in Claremont Stadium, Navan.

Hurling:

We competed in the Mini 7s hurling competition in the Autumn. In the Spring our school hurling team competed in division 2 in the Cumann na mBunscol league. The team was comprised of boys from 5th and 6th class. We were very proud of their efforts during the league campaign.

Boys Soccer:

Boys soccer began in January, with over 30 boys playing in-school games on Monday afternoons up until Mid March. It was fantastic to see the effort they put in and the enjoyment they got out of these games. 16 of these boys were lucky enough to get the chance to represent the school at the FAI Schools Primary 5s competition at the MDL Grounds in Navan in March. The boys gave a great account of themselves at this event, getting through the first group stage to reach the final eight.

Girls Soccer:

Similarly, the girls competed in the FAI Schools Primary 5s competition, qualifying through the group stages and going on to become Meath Champions and representing the school and Meath in the North Leinster Championship. Well done to Emma McIlroy, Kate Butler, Sophie Crea, Izzy Brennan, Holly O’Neill, Isabella Ferreira and Anastasia Pedon.

Gaelic:

Well done to all who took part in Mini Leagues recently!
